Tales from the Interface No.2 by Ink-Orporate

The time has finally come!
It gives me great pleasure to let you know that you will be able to pre-order Tales from the Interface No.2 this Friday, March 15.
This time it will be available in English and French simultaneously.

Here's the link to the campaign
kck.st/2F8sfHt

If you back this campaign, you will be among the first to receive the second book containing the last two 24 pages stories including the new, unpublished tale I have been working on for the past year. I also secured a great deal for International shipping that I can't do on a book-by book basis outside of this campaign. And if Tales of the Interface is new to you or if you weren’t able to get the first book before, this is a good opportunity to save on shipping by ordering both books.

No.2 will contain 2 stories:

Chapter 4: Robopax
After meeting with the salesman Halloway, Gauthier is pumped about the prospect of working for Transcervical and exploring all those premium virtual worlds. He tells his girlfriend Clara all about it, but they are interrupted by a riot and must flee into the Interface once more.

Chapter 5: Mine (never published anywhere else)
A strange disease strikes children. Parents must dig through a dangerous cave in order to mine the cure. This story explores sacrifices parents make for their children, the complexity of war and the unexpected consequences of it. This story is silent.

Early backers special package
People who order within the first 24hrs will get access to a special package that will contain:
  • Printed copy of No.2
  • In book Sketch (in No.2)
  • Random 5×7 print (x5)
  • Sticker
  • Your name printed in No.2 as one of the backers (optional)
  • Random Inked 5×7 sketch on Bristol board

I am tremendously excited to announce that I will start publishing chapter 4 of my webcomic, Tales from the Interface (tfti.inkorpora.com) on August 6th. This hiatus has been nerve-wrecking for me. I was always so scared that I would have to rebuild my readership. Thankfully, some of you visited from time to time here and other social medias. This meant the world to me and I am truly grateful when people take some time to write me a note.

Look at the snazzy trailer I made:

Counting everything, this chapter was close to a year in the making. Why is that? Well, there are many reasons.

Firstly, I want to put forward by best work, I will not release something I feel is below my capacity. I had very interesting discussions with artists who have a more sketchy approach to comic. For sure, it would allow me to produce more and be seen more. It also would have the benefit of giving me more storytelling practice. But when I look at a sketched page, I just feels incomplete and frustrates me. Now, if this style matches the story, it can be great. If I can think of a story that would benefit this, I might even give it a shot. Actually, I have done it for some panels on occasion. I’d love to hear your opinion on the matter.

Secondly, I don’t release pages as they are done. I finish everything first, then schedule the posts. I do this to insure that they are no interruptions for the duration of the chapter. This is specially important since my chapters are small stories. While this chapter is published, I will start work on the next chapter in an effort to reduce the hiatus time. As usual, you can follow my progress through snapshots here or on Instagram. I try not to many spoilers.

Thirdly, this is my biggest chapter yet, so get ready for 24 weeks of updates! woot woot

Lastly, it’s simply a matter of hours in a day. I only have a couple of hours a day to work on TFTI. My first priority is to support my family. I am very lucky to have a cool design job with wonderful colleagues. Would I do comic full-time if I could? Maybe. But I am very far from there, I make no money from comics, or barely nothing. Thankfully, my Indiegogo campaign supporters and people buying my books in cons and elsewhere have helped me offset the cost of printing of the books. I am very lucky, Many talented artists struggle to get even this.

If you are wondering how you can help, simply sharing and talking to people about my comic is the easiest thing you can do. Further than that, books are available for purchase on the site. You can also support me on Patreon.

In this chapter, Gauthier and Clara are amazed by Halloway offer and seem ready to give it a go. However they are once again forced to use their precious Interface minutes to escape a rioting crowd. Is the Interface truly a safe haven?

Thank you so much for your patience and understanding. The wait is almost over!

2017 in review

1 min read

What a year, I’ve been extremely fortunate with my comic.

I have launched the site in February and have received amazing feedback from readers and critics for the first 3 chapters.

I have received 4 great reviews and given 2 interviews. You can read them on my press page. Joshua Davidson of Bleeding Cool gave my comic the #3 position in the Top Independent Comic of 2017.

I have attented two conventions this year:  Fantasticon and Expozine. I am planning on attending a few more in 2018. It’s really cool to meet readers who pass by and talking about my work. Reception has been great so far and I am getting more comfortable explaining my thought process.

Chapter 4 is progressing steadily, and I have inked 18 pages of 24. Color will start soon, really looking forward to starting this part of the process. I post regular updates on Instagram if you want to take a peek.

So a big thanks you to you, my readers and friends for keeping up with my work and all your good words!
